Kalavantin Durg
Kalavantin Durg is located between Matheran and Panvel in the Indian state of Maharashtra, in the Western Ghats. It was built on a plateau very close to Matheran, but unlike Matheran it does not have a good source of water. It was known as Muranjan until it was taken over and renamed by the Maratha forces under Shivaji’s rule. Prabalmachi is the midway base village for two famous treks named Prabalgad and Kalavantin durg. Prabalmachi offers breathtaking view of both Prabalgad and Kalavantin durg, with a scenic valley view of Panvel outskirts. Nothing can beat Prabalmachi when it comes to location, weather and food. It also offers a small trek through the forest which has potential Wildlife.

Assembling
– Reach base village by 8:15AM, Tea en route.
The Ascend
– After Introduction Round depart for Prabalmachi
– Prabalmachi Plateau and take some rest
– Start trekking to reach the Top of Kalavantin Durg
– Reach the top and Enjoy your lunch.
The Descend
– Reach base village by 05:00 pm.
Return
– Reach Dadar by 08:30 PM (~tentatively)
