Kalsubai Trek – Highest Peak of Maharashtra
Trek to Kalsubai a mountain (1646 meters) of the Sahyadris range located in the Bhandardara region. Its summit situated at an elevation of 5400 feet is the highest point in Maharashtra. Kalsubai Trek is also known as ‘Everest of Maharashtra’. Kalsubai temple is located at the topmost summit. At the summit there is a plain ground with a small temple of Kalsubai, a local deity. This being the highest peak, it commands a beautiful view. The vastly spread out backwaters of Bhandardara attracts ones attention from the top. To the north of the mountain range forts such as Ramsej, Harihargad, Brahmagiri, Anjaneri, Ghargad, Bahula, Tringalwadi, Kavnai can be seen. To the east one can spot Aundha, Vishramgad, Bitangad, to the west Alang, Madangad, Kulang, Ratangad (south west) and to the south Pabhargad, Ghanchakkar, Harishchandragad can be seen.

Assembling
– Reach base village by 05:00 AM, Tea en route.
The Ascend
– Breakfast, and start Trek after introduction round and Do’s & Don’ts.
– It’s a good hike of 3hrs.
– Reach the Top by 10:30 AM n enjoy the scenic view, explore.
The Descend
– Reach base village by 02:00 PM and Lunch.
Return
– Reach Dadar by 08:30 PM (~tentatively)
