Trans Himalayan Jeep Safari takes you from the hill town of Manali to the high altitude, exotic desert region of Spiti, Lahaul & Ladakh. It passes through some of the highest motorable roads in the world. Also called, The Land Of High Passes. Himalayan Jeep safari is the best way to explore the Himalayan Region. It is a unique and thrilling experience.

How to reach: (By Road / Air)

Ladakh is approx 1050 kms from Delhi. While  Manali to Leh is approx 500 kms and can be reached by overnight VOLVO from Delhi to Manali and further Manali to Leh in two days as well as three days. Srinagar to Leh is Approx 450 kms  via Kargil. Srinagar to Leh can be completed in two days. You can catch regular flights from Delhi to Leh and return ( One hour only ). You can also catch flights from Jammu and Srinagar to Leh (couple of days in a week and subject to change).

Restrictions:

In certain area you need to have a Inner Line Travel permit to visit like Nubra Valley / Pangong Lake / Tso Moriri Lake and others which can be arranged in Leh itself. All clients are requested to have their Photo ID proof. Khardungla pass remains close for the maintenance purposes on every Monday. Therefore travel to Khardungla Pass or Nubra valley need to be avoided on Monday.

Tips / Insurance:

Clients are advised to take the pre insurance against their travel for any unforeseen circumstances and flight cancellation. This is a remote area and evacuating the people from Ladakh to main land may take two to three days. You need to be prepared for flight cancellation in monsoon season but not very often.  Your Driver / Hotel personal / Local Guides and Trekking team expect a tip at the end of services and depends on your overall program and duration. You may get the details from your representative and tour escort upon arrival in Ladakh.

High Altitude Sickness

Leh is situated at 3500 meter above sea level and if flying to Leh directly means you may have some high altitude sickness after three to four hours of landing. It may vary person to person. Vomitting/ Head Ace / Breathing Problems / Read Eye/ Fever / Irritations etc are some of the symptoms which one may feel. It may take 12 hours to 24 hours to acclimatize with the high altitude . It is advisable to everyone to have a complete rest the day you arrive in Leh and avoid sleeping in the day time. Intake the maximum water / Tea (Black tea is recommended) / Coffee / Soup etc. which will help. Avoid not to eat the food. In the evening you may have a short walk to the market and advisable areas. Still if feeling bad than visit the nearest state Govt. Hospital for the medical treatments.

Day 1: Manali – Jispa/Sarchu

You will met by our representative in Manali. After Breakfast to depart to Sarchu, Cross over Rohtang Pass (3978 m), Keylong (3350 m), Baralacha Pass (4890m). Overnight stay & Dinner in the Camps at Sarchu (4253 m).

Day 2: Jispa/Sarchu - Leh

Leave for Leh by early morning, through Nakeela and Lachangla Pass 16,617 ft. Lunch at Pang. After Lunch drive to Leh passing through Skyangchu Thang (Biggest and Highest Plateau on Earth on Stretch of 42 Kms), Tanglang La Pass 17,585ft. Arrival at Leh you will met by our representative and transfer to Hotel. Evening for rest and leisure to acclimatize.  Overnight at Hotel.

Day 3: Indus Valley Monastery Excursion

Post breakfast we proceed for Indus Valley Monastery tour including Shey, The ancient capital of Ladakh, Thiksey an impressive complex rising tier upon tier on a hill above the village, Stok Palace & Sindhu Ghat. Packed Lunch will be provided or Hot Lunch at Kalden Home Stay in Stok. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 4: Leh to Nubra Valley (126 kms/Aprox. 6 Hrs.)

After an early breakfast we leave to Nubra Valley which passes through Khardung-la-pass, the highest Motor able road in the world at 18,390 ft, around 39kms from Leh.  Nubra Valley is popularly known as valley of flowers. It is situated to the North of Ladakh between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas. First visit Sumur, another pretty village on the other side of the river’; Samstanling Gompa here was founded by Lama Tsultims Nima and Monastic community was introduced as Rezong Gompa. Overnight at deluxe camp in Nubra.

Day 5: Nubra Valley - Leh

After your breakfast at the camp, visit the Sand Dunes to enjoy a camel safari (Optional). Later we drive to Leh over Khardung La. To reach Leh in the Afternoon and to check in to the Hotel. After taking some rest in the Hotel, then to take a walk to the local market.  Dinner and Overnight at hotel in Leh.

Day 6: Leh - Pangong Lake – 14,000 Ft.

After an early breakfast we leave for Pangong Lake through Changla pass 5486 Mtrs. Pangong Lake is situated at 14,000 feet (4,267 m). A long narrow basin of inland drainage, hardly six to seven kilometer at its widest point and over 130km long, it is bisected by the international border between India and China. A few years back the government decided to open it to tourists though the lake and its surrounding is under army surveillance.  Overnight in hotel or Camp stay in Pangong.

Day 7: Pangong – Leh

After breakfast leave from Pangong to Leh (130 Km). Arrival Leh in the afternoon. Evening for rest and leisure to. Overnight stay in the hotel.

Day 8: Leh to Manali

Early Morning Check out from the hotel in Leh then to leave to Manali. Late Evening arrival Manali and we drop at the Manali Bus Stand or Hotel.
